Lexia Core5 Reading Helps Close Massive Literacy Gaps
With shifting student demographics, funding cuts, and pandemic-related learning loss, educators at Imagine Schools at West Melbourne knew they needed a solution to help drive student success with an adaptive, evidence-based approach and timely progress data.
That's why Kailee Brothers and her team at the Florida charter school turned to Lexia® Core5® Reading to help address massive literacy gaps among students.
“Our students are motivated by Lexia® and they’re excited to get on the program,” Brothers, the school's academic coach, said.
She also praised Core5’s informative and instant progress data that helps educators pinpoint where students are struggling, as well as the units that help both students and teachers decode issues and address setbacks with the appropriate intervention.
Imagine educators spend a lot of one-on-one time with each student to set long-term goals to keep them motivated, and Core5 is a huge part of that.
“They’re [the students] very motivated by completing their units and their weekly conversations that they have with their teachers,” Brothers said.
Getting families involved is also key. Both educators and parents love the fact that Lexia can be used at home.
