Lexia® Core5® Reading continues to deliver measurable literacy progress for students across the United States. During the 2025–2026 school year, 3.2 million students and 195,000 educators in 17,700 schools used Core5 to strengthen foundational reading skills, close literacy gaps, and support more equitable outcomes.

Students who used the program with fidelity showed substantial growth. The percentage working on skills at or above grade level doubled from 42% to 84%. Among students who started the year two or more grade levels behind, 52% gained at least two grade levels in one year, while 38% ended the year at grade level or reached their grade-level benchmark. Of students who began the year at grade level, 79% reached their grade-level benchmark or above by year end.

Core5 combines adaptive technology with Structured Literacy instruction to help students receive support matched to their needs. Students averaged 73 minutes of Core5 use each week and completed an average of 21 skills and corresponding Skill Checks during the academic year. Across participating schools, Core5 delivered more than 3.2 million Level Certificates and nearly 3.9 million Lexia Lessons® and Lexia Skill Builders®.

The program's evidence base remains strong. Fourteen peer-reviewed studies of Core5 have been published during the past 10 years, including six with Tier 1 (Strong) ratings based on Every Student Succeeds Act criteria. Reported effect sizes range from 0.06 to 0.53.

Educator feedback also highlights usability and instructional efficiency. Ninety-two percent of educators say Core5 is easy to use, while 80% say it helps them provide targeted instruction more efficiently and 80% say it helps them evaluate student needs more efficiently. Together, these findings show how Core5 supports data-informed teaching and meaningful literacy growth at scale.
