Lexia® PowerUp Literacy® continues to help adolescent readers strengthen foundational literacy skills and advance toward grade-level proficiency. During the 2025–2026 school year, 940,600 students and 58,800 educators in 10,100 U.S. schools used PowerUp to support literacy growth across word study, grammar, and comprehension.

Students who used the program with fidelity made substantial progress. Fifty-seven percent covered three or more grade levels of skills in a single school year. The percentage working on advanced skills across all content strands increased from 1% at the beginning of the year to 46% at the end. By year end, fewer than 7% of students were working on K–2 skills across all strands, while the number working on advanced comprehension skills increased fourfold.

PowerUp combines evidence-based Structured Literacy® instruction with an age-appropriate, adaptive learning experience designed for students in grades 6–12. Students completed an average of 67 skills and 10 Skill Checks during the academic year, spending an average of 80 minutes per week working across PowerUp strands. Educators also delivered 233,675 Lexia Lessons® and 500,502 Lexia Skill Builders®, extending personalized learning through targeted instruction and independent practice.

The program is supported by seven peer-reviewed published studies, including three with Tier 1 (Strong) ratings based on Every Student Succeeds Act criteria. Reported effect sizes range from 0.14 to 0.74, demonstrating positive outcomes across diverse adolescent learner populations.

Educator feedback reinforces the program's usability, with 88% of educators reporting that PowerUp is easy to use. Together, these findings demonstrate how PowerUp helps schools address unfinished learning, accelerate literacy skill development, and provide older students with a structured path toward stronger reading proficiency.
