ACADEMIC YEAR 2024–2025
Lexia English Language Development™ is driving meaningful language growth for Emergent Bilingual students across Canada. During the 2024–2025 academic year, 1,500 students and 2,100 educators across 240 schools used Lexia English to support Multilingual Learners through personalized, standards-aligned instruction focused on speaking, listening, and grammar.
Students who used the program as recommended completed an average of 202 units and 31 Presentations of Knowledge-structured academic conversations that promote fluency and confidence. Two in five students advanced a full proficiency band in their respective language standard. Overall, 59% of students’ time in the program was spent in active conversation, reinforcing real-world oral language skills. Lexia English logged 54,000 total conversations and more than 4,200 hours of talk time during the academic year.
Backed by research and aligned to multiple English language proficiency standards, Lexia English delivers measurable results. Effect sizes range from 0.18 to 0.40, with users consistently outperforming nonusers on assessments of language skills.
Educators report the program helps address individual learning gaps they could not otherwise reach—providing timely, targeted instruction and actionable insight. Lexia English empowers teachers while building students’ confidence, engagement, and language mastery.
