Core5 Literacy Acceleration

Research-validated auto-placement helps students begin at an appropriate level, while adaptive branching provides scaffolding, guided practice, or direct instruction when students need additional support. Students who demonstrate proficiency can continue to more advanced skills. The program systematically addresses six areas of reading, supporting development from phonological awareness and phonics through vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension. 

Embedded assessment, including Lexia’s patented Assessment Without Testing® technology, gives educators real-time progress-monitoring data without interrupting learning for a separate test. After just one month of use, Core5 identifies overall student risk levels and predicts the likelihood of reaching end-of-year grade-level benchmarks. Educators can use these insights and daily action plans to prioritize instruction, adjust support, and respond sooner to student needs. 

Core5 also connects student performance with targeted instructional resources. Lexia Lessons® support teacher-led, small-group intervention, while Lexia Skill Builders® provide additional independent practice. New Lexia Assignments reinforce skills through systematic, targeted practice, and enhanced explicit instruction in phonics provides brief, direct modeling before independent application.
