Before leaders at Mayfield City Schools implemented Lexia® Core5® Reading, teachers would spend hours searching for reading intervention resources and materials. Core5 served as a progress-monitoring tool for Mayfield’s Response to Intervention (RTI) process.
The Results
Of the 465 students who finished the year working in material above their grade level in Core5, the majority (92%) were also designated as Proficiency Accelerated or Advanced on the Ohio State Test, English Language Arts (OST-ELA).

Henderson Hammock Charter School has the largest Emergent Bilingual student population in Tampa. Using Lexia English Language Development™, educators at this urban school empowered an ESOL resource teacher to achieve remarkable improvements in student learning despite pandemic-related shutdowns. She tracked Lexia use and performance data to identify where students needed help, then provided personalized, explicit instruction for the students who needed it most.

How 1 Chicago School Became a Shining Example for Systematic Change

Monarcas Academy, Chicago, Illinois; 833+ students, pre-K–5
The Solution
Pre-K-5: Lexia Core5 Reading
The Challenge
Thirty-eight percent of Illinois fourth grade students were reported as reading below basic reading skills; 67% reading below the proficient level. But educators at Chicago’s Monarcas Academy (previously Enrico Tonti Elementary School) broke the mold with Lexia® Core5® Reading. School leaders coupled instruction with Core5’s data-driven and evidence-based program to provide reading skills grounded in science. Teachers differentiated instruction, flagged students who were struggling, and identified gaps.
The Results
The school earned the highest ranking in Chicago Public Schools’ rating system, with 80% of students who started the year working below grade level advancing at least one grade level.
