[Testimonial] Lexia English: ‘Just a great place to start’
Kate Adelmann, North Texas Regional Coordinator for English Language Services, and her educators strive to teach to the individual needs of every student.
Across Great Hearts Texas schools, Adelmann serves a diverse population of students, many of whom are becoming multilingual or Emergent Bilingual as they learn English.
To meet every student where they are, Adelmann and her teachers use Lexia English Language Development™.
“With Lexia®, we are able to help our students to learn English, English that they need for the classroom for growing in academics and for becoming proficient,” Adelmann says in this video.
Through its culturally responsive pedagogies and asset-based approach, Lexia English, an Adaptive Blended Learning program, was created to help Emergent Bilingual students learn English through academic conversations.
Lexia English’s detailed reports also provide educators the student progress information necessary to continue to meet each student’s unique needs.
“Through their [students’] work on Lexia English, we’re able to track how their English proficiency is coming,” Adelmann says. “It’s great that you can see the progress. We are able to pull reports to see their growth and progress by individual students. And I can see that on the district level, which I truly appreciate.”
