Florida Adolescents Show PM3 FAST Growth
Florida students at a large suburban school district are accelerating their literacy learning and making gains on state literacy assessments. This infographic illustrates how the students’ consistent use of Lexia® PowerUp Literacy® during the 2024–2025 school year contributed to their success.
The infographic details the following outcomes:
Among the 5,720 students in grades 6–10 who regularly used PowerUp, at least half of those beginning in a strand’s Foundational zone made meaningful progress into higher zones during the year.
The students who reached Advanced zones or completed PowerUp were more likely to demonstrate proficiency on Progress Monitoring 3 (PM3) of the Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST).
PowerUp accelerates literacy gains for students in grades 6–12 who are at risk of not meeting college- and career-ready standards. Rooted in the science of reading and proven to be up to five times as effective as the average middle school reading intervention, PowerUp helps students make multiple years of growth in a single academic year.
Lexia’s literacy experts designed PowerUp to maximize student learning through a personalized experience that addresses individual skill gaps as well as supports reading proficiency and academic success. The resulting learning gains ensure that students have the reading and critical thinking skills they need to meet the demands of the secondary curriculum and beyond.
