Achieving Sustained Literacy Gains in New York
New York students are making literacy gains year after year with the help of Lexia® Core5® Reading.
This case study provides key data illustrating how the evidence-based literacy program closed learning gaps for New York students during the 2023–2024 and 2024–2025 school years.
Key outcomes based on student use of Core5 include the following:
- Across the 2023–2024 school year, the percentage of New York students working on material at or above grade level approximately doubled, increasing from 38% to 76% among students who used the program with fidelity.
- Across the 2024–2025 school year, the percentage of students working on material at or above grade level approximately doubled, increasing from 41% to 80% among students who used the program with fidelity.
- Among students who used Core5 with fidelity during the 2023–2024 school year, 42% reached their grade-level benchmark by the end of that year.
- Among students who used Core5 with fidelity during the 2024–2025 school year, 47% reached their grade-level benchmark by the end of that year.
