Lexia Texas Progress Report
During the 2023–2024 school year, Lexia® programs provided crucial support to students across Texas, significantly improving literacy and language learning outcomes. Grounded in the science of reading and designed to enhance teacher-led instruction, Lexia programs made a measurable impact on student achievement.
For pre-K–5 students, Lexia® Core5® Reading helped increase the percentage of students working at or above grade level from 40% to 82%. By the end of the year, 49% of students had reached their grade-level benchmarks, and students working below grade level dropped from 60% to just 18%. Teachers in Texas, like those at McAllen Independent School District, praised Core5’s ability to provide "true data" for effective intervention.
In grades 6–12, Lexia® PowerUp Literacy® enabled 46% of students to progress by three grade levels in one year, with less than 8% working on foundational skills by year’s end. PowerUp’s data-driven approach was lauded by educators at Fort Worth ISD for its ability to help teachers and principals support their students.
Additionally, Lexia English Language Development™ saw success, with one in four students moving up a proficiency band and an average of 1.7 levels when using the program as recommended. Teachers point to the program’s emphasis on the way students speak and use language as an advantage that makes Lexia English especially effective.
