Lexia® Core5® Massachusetts Progress Report
Proven Literacy Tools + Real-Time Data = Literacy Growth on MCAS for EL
Massachusetts is strengthening its approach to early literacy through Chapter 113 of the Acts of 2026, which establishes new requirements and supports for evidence-based K–3 literacy instruction. As school and district leaders prepare for implementation, supplemental and intervention programs grounded in the science of reading can help educators strengthen instruction and respond to individual student needs. Research-proven programs can also provide actionable, real-time data to help teachers, school administrators, and district administrators monitor student progress and make informed instructional decisions.
With embedded, AI-powered progress monitoring, Lexia® Core5® Reading gives teachers real-time insight into student growth—without adding to their workload. That means more effective differentiation, targeted support for every learner, and a personalized classroom experience that drives measurable reading gains. The result? Stronger teacher performance, higher retention, and better student outcomes across your school or district.
Of the Massachusetts students who used Core5 with fidelity:
- 86% of students were at or above grade level by year’s end
- The percentage of students below grade level dropped from 52% to 14%
- 53% of Massachusetts students achieved grade-level benchmarks
Core5’s Adaptive Blended Learning approach accelerates literacy skills for students of all abilities. Its comprehensive scope and sequence supports both foundational and advanced skills, while built-in assessment technology gives educators real-time, actionable insights to guide instruction and improve outcomes.
