Core5 Reading Evidence Benchmarks Not Taught in Isolation
Florida school and district administrators, download a PDF of Core5 Reading Evidence Benchmarks Not Taught in Isolation.
Find out how, with Lexia® Core5® Reading, students’ basic skills and functional reading skills wholly integrate in grades K–2 and 3–5.
For example, for third grade, Level 13, five separate online digital activities are supported by 13 pieces of offline paper-based content. Spelling Rules 2 online is supported by three separate offline paper activities: Spelling Rules (doubling), Spelling Rules (drop e), and Spelling Rules 2. Offline paper-based activities on Suffixes and on Latin Suffixes support both the Spelling Rules 2 online activity and an online activity devoted to Latin Suffixes.
Third grade, Level 13 Spelling Rules 2 builds directly upon second grand, Level 11 Spelling Rules 1, Hard and Soft C, and Hard and Soft G activities. Spelling Rules 2 also directly leads into fourth grade, Level 17 Spelling Rules 3 and Prefix Change Rules, and fifth grade, Level 17 Greek Combining Forms.
This kind of careful coordination of online and offline/paper-based activities gives every action and every lesson meaning. Students’, teachers’, and administrators’ time is used to its greatest effect.
