Lexia PowerUp Literacy Canada Annual Report

Lexia® PowerUp Literacy® is helping secondary school students across Canada become confident readers. With PowerUp, students at risk of not meeting College- and Career-Ready Standards can achieve up to three years of growth in just one academic year—accelerating their path to success.

The 2024–2025 Canada National Progress Report highlights how 34,000 students across 2,249 schools leveraged PowerUp to transform their literacy skills.

Students who used the program with fidelity:  

• Made substantial progress toward grade-level content 
• Sixty-two percent of students advanced one or more zones in all three literacy strands: Word Study, Grammar, and Reading Comprehension
• Ninety percent of students moved up at least two zones, demonstrating accelerated growth and mastery
• Completed an average of 74 activities and 11 embedded Skill Checks in a single year
• By year’s end, fewer than 5% of students were working on foundational skills in any strand, showcasing remarkable progress
