Lexia English Language Development Correlational Research

Lexia English Language Development™ is an adaptive learning program developed to support English Learners in grades K–6. As a blended learning program, Lexia English integrates online activities together with teacher-directed instruction. 

While students work independently in the online program, teachers are provided with real-time data related to students’ program usage and progress. This results in an individualized learning experience designed to increase students’ English language proficiency. Lexia® is dedicated to conducting research to demonstrate the effectiveness of its programs. 

To date, this Correlational Research document summarizes three reports produced by Lexia Research demonstrating how program measures in Lexia English correlate with test scores obtained on well-known summative tests of language proficiency. The reports are based on data collected from school districts in two states and include more than 2,000 students. The correlations shown in these reports establish Lexia English’s program measures as a valid form of classroom assessment.
