Award-Winning "All For Literacy" Podcast Returns for a New Season
Lexia’s award-winning podcast "All For Literacy" is coming back for another inspiring and insightful season this fall!
"All For Literacy" is a podcast about real people making real progress—and the hard, hopeful work of how we teach reading. Previous seasons hosted by Dr. Liz Brooke featured insightful and actionable advice from key industry voices like Emily Hanford, Kareem Weaver, and Dr. Young-Suk Kim.
“Dr. Liz Brooke … brought us a masterclass in the science of reading,” says new podcast host Kerri Larkin. “She and her guests … helped us deeply understand the neuroscience and educational psychology behind our brains and how they learn to read, why so many of us struggle with some component of reading, and, most importantly, what instruction will mitigate that struggle.”

About Kerri Larkin
Stepping into the role of podcast host for Season 5, Larkin has over 20 years of experience spanning the classroom, district leadership, and national education strategy. She brings a wealth of insight, empathy, and deep commitment to educational equity to the conversation, and will continue to guide listeners through some of the most important conversations in literacy today.
A former ninth grade English and special education teacher and former head of special education at DC Public Schools, Kerri has spent her career focused on the students furthest from opportunity. Her work lives at the intersection of meaningful inclusion, courageous communication, and boundless curiosity—values that will shape every conversation this season.
“Transformation is possible. And every student deserves a system that believes that too,” states Larkin. This combination of heart, clarity, and action-oriented thinking is exactly what "All For Literacy" listeners can expect moving forward. Kerri’s passion for using student outcomes as a compass, her commitment to appreciative inquiry, and her ability to translate complex ideas into shared understanding will add powerful depth to the conversations that matter most.
An Exciting First Episode
Two special contributors will join Larkin for Season 5, Episode 1: Candace Hall and Cassandra Wheeler.
Hall—who spent over 25 years in education and more than two decades on the sidelines as a field hockey coach—has dedicated her life to unlocking the power of learning, especially through literacy. Whether she’s leading a classroom, coaching from the bench, or collaborating with fellow educators, her mission is simple: inspire, empower, and make learning stick.
Wheeler began her career in education over 30 years ago as a classroom teacher in Montgomery, Alabama, before transitioning to a classroom reading specialist role and subsequently joining the Alabama State Department of Education. She leverages her experience and expertise to partner with state and district leaders on closing achievement gaps in literacy, identify and implement evidence-based programs and practices grounded in the science of reading, and ensure teachers have the tools to implement standards-based lessons.
