Business, college, and K–12 leaders come together to boost student literacy
A new cross-collaborative initiative across the Michigan region aims to increase third grade ELA proficiency by 5% annually during the next three years. “As we look across the country at states that have made significant progress in reading proficiency, they have taken a similar approach,” Kent ISD Superintendent Ron Gorman said. “I believe we are on the right track to improve literacy outcomes for all children.”
