Building a literacy framework that works: A district leader’s journey in Peoria
Post-COVID, Lindsay Bohm stepped into a new role at a school district in Peoria, Illinois. She knew she needed to implement something new to not only close literacy gaps, but also accelerate learning. Teachers were burnt out, but software alone wasn’t going to fix it. She worked with Lexia to implement a self-paced LETRS program that honored teachers’ capacity and gave them the skills they needed to implement a science of reading-based approach in the classroom.
