73% of MPS fourth graders can’t read at a basic level. What will it take to fix that?

In Milwaukee Public Schools, only 27% of fourth grade students are reading at a basic level, compared to just under 40% 15 years ago. The district has a plan to turn this around that focuses on training teachers in science of reading instruction through Lexia® LETRS®.
