From Failing to Reading With Lexia
Educators at Bossier Elementary School spent years under state supervision as students struggled to understand the basics.
“In this last year, we have moved up,” Michael Gallo, an instructional coach at the Louisiana school, says in this video. “We no longer have the state coming in constantly.”
Gallo credits Lexia® Core5® Reading with helping his team reach this milestone so quickly. The research-backed strategies and tools, along with the clear, easy-to-use data give teachers everything they need to reach their goals.
“The data is important to us so that we can show that we're moving students and those students that are not moving, we're able to come up with a solution on how to help that student moving forward,” Gallo says.
Gallo also praises the program for helping parents get involved by helping their children in as little as 10 minutes a day.
“We're able to tell our parents this is something that you can access at home as well,” he says. “Because a lot of our parents don't know how to help their students. And so, when our teachers have a solution, like just have them get on Lexia just 10 minutes a night at home, that can be their homework.”
The research-proven Core5 accelerates the development of literacy skills for pre-K–5 students of all abilities, helping them make the critical shift from learning to read to reading to learn.
