Unlock the Power of Literacy Professional Learning With the Student Support and Professional Development Grant (AB121)
California’s Student Support and Professional Development Discretionary Block Grant, part of Assembly Bill 121, gives district leaders a powerful opportunity to elevate literacy instruction through targeted, evidence-based professional learning. This flexible funding can be used to support strategic priorities that align with the state’s ELA/ELD Framework and Literacy Roadmap.
Lexia® LETRS® and Lexia Aspire® Professional Learning meet AB 121 criteria by helping educators implement the science of reading in ways that match students’ developmental stages. LETRS equips teachers with essential knowledge of foundational reading and writing development, enabling them to meet the needs of K–3 learners and provide consistency for students through fifth grade. Aspire supports educators working with students in upper elementary through high school, where strengthening foundational literacy still matters, especially within the context of complex, content-driven instruction.
Both programs are accredited by the International Dyslexia Association® and are proven to improve instructional practice and increase student achievement. By investing AB 121 funds in high-impact professional learning, district leaders can build sustainable capacity across all grade levels.
Lexia’s solutions help district leaders work toward equitable literacy outcomes while giving teachers practical, research-based strategies. As California educators address persistent achievement gaps, AB 121 funding creates an opportunity for lasting, systemwide improvement. Lexia® is ready to support that mission.
