Lexia Aspire® Professional Learning for Emergent Bilingual Educators

Lexia Aspire is a series of professional learning courses grounded in the science of reading. It provides knowledge, research, and tools educators can use to support Emergent Bilingual students. 

This resource provides an overview of Aspire’s professional learning domains. It describes how educators can teach the skills required for proficient reading and writing, with a special emphasis on areas where Emergent Bilingual students may need additional support. 

• Introductory Prerequisite Courses: Reviews the value of equitable literacy instruction and the role of recognizing the needs and talents of Emergent Bilinguals

• Word Recognition: Provides best practices for assessing and teaching oral reading fluency, phonology, phonics, articulation, and spelling
