Lexia® RAPID™ Assessment and the Ohio State Test in English Language Arts (OST ELA)
Correlations: Correlations between students’ Reading Success Probability (RSP) scores on RAPID and end-of-year scaled scores on the Ohio State Test in English Language Arts (OST ELA) are shown in Table 1. The correlations were significant and fell in the medium to high ranges for all grades. Correlations in the medium to high range are considered strong when evaluating a reading assessment. For a detailed description of RSP, please refer to the RAPID User Guide.
Alignments: There was a close alignment between end-of-year reading success scores on RAPID (Low, Moderate, High) and performance levels on the OST ELA. Most students (89%) who obtained a score in the High range on RAPID also scored at a Proficient level on the OST ELA (Table 2).
