In Strategies, student data is easy to access and simple to interpret. While students are working independently in the online activities, Lexia’s patented embedded assessment system, Assessment Without Testing®, provides educators with immediate and actionable diagnostic performance data without interrupting the flow of instruction for a test event. This lowers dependencies on assessments by and, according to a national survey, saves teachers up to a month of instructional time. Data reports can be accessed by administrators and educators on a browser, iPad app, or iPhone app and are available at a student, class, grade, school, and district level.

Prioritize Allocation of Time and Resources

With access to detailed reports of school, grade, class, and student data, educators can make informed decisions by monitoring student progress and planning instruction based on students’ skill level and needs, helping to prioritize limited time and resources.  The Prescription of Intensity that is recommended for each student is color-coded (red = high risk; yellow = some risk; green = low risk) in order to help educators visually assess and compare the skill levels associated with their students, classes, schools, or district. It also allows them to allocate computer time for each student, as well as additional reading block time and use of paraprofessionals. The myLexia reports provide links to targeted resources to ensure that the appropriate skill gaps are being addressed when students are struggling.

Monitor Academic Growth

The myLexia data reports provide insight into progress on a district, school, grade, class, and student level.  The home page for each level provides a clear, real-time snapshot of how students are progressing.  Monthly change in student reading gains is also identified, allowing educators to monitor progress for each student and their entire class.  Administrators can also view this change, giving them the ability to monitor reading gains over time on a grade, school, and district level.

Ensure Fidelity of Implementation

In order for students to accelerate development of foundational reading skills, it is important that they are meeting the recommended minutes in the program.

In the myLexia reports, educators have the ability to monitor class and student log in usage to ensure the program is being used with fidelity in order to achieve reading success.  The myLexia reports give teachers the tools to be effective and monitor student growth and progress.

Administrators are also able to monitor the number of times their teachers log in which is essential in determining whether the data is being utilized to drive instructional decisions.  MyLexia reports also help administrators determine how often teachers and staff login and the numbers of times the materials for teacher-led instruction have been downloaded.
