Lexia® strongly recommends that the student software not be installed on a server, but rather on the individual student workstations. The database itself may be hosted on a server, via the LexiaServer software included on all product CDs.
Standalone & Family Version Users
- Run express install from the product CD.
- Apply any product updates from the “Setup Student Software” section below.
- You must leave the CD in the drive during product use.
Network Database Setup
- Run server install from product disk (only once even if installing several products)

Lexia Database Service:
This software replaces the shipping version of the Lexia Database Service on your product CDs. Use this in place of performing a “Server-Only” Install on your OS X server. This does not apply to Windows users.

Install Lexia Data Monitor
Lexia Database Monitor 1.71
The Lexia Database Monitor provides a graphical interface that resides on the server for stopping and starting the Lexia Database Service, running a database backup, and compacting and repairing a damaged database.

Setup Student Software
- Run install from product disk on student machine
- Apply recommended updates (choose below)
- Setup server-side control in the Admin tool (see installation instructions)
- Enter serial number (from back of jewel case)
- Installation may be copied from one student machine to others.
