"Required File XOBGLU16.DLL" messages when launching Lexia programs

Version:
  • Early Reading – All versions to 2.01
  • Phonics Based Reading – All versions up to 3.02
  • S.O.S. – All versions to 3.53
  • Inicio a la Lectura – Version 1.0

Platforms Affected:
  • Windows 98
  • Windows 2000
  • Windows XP

Symptom:

When trying to enter a Lexia program, an error message stating the need for a .dll file prevents access to the program.

Solution or Explanation:

Legacy versions of Lexia software attempt to place temporary files in System areas of a workstation upon launch of programs. If the current user has restricted access to these areas, programs cannot be run successfully. An installer is available that installs these files once.

  1. Contact Customer Support and request the Lexia FontX installer.
  2. Install this patch at each workstation affected. Note that this installer must be performed by the administrator.

NOTE: The installer will copy necessary .dlls to the System directory.
