1.
Check to see if you have a connections file.
First check to see if you are using the LexiaServer database service. Click on the Admin button in your Lexia program and going to the Set Network Options tab. If you have Server-Side control selected, you are using the LexiaServer database service. The IP address of the server machine will be displayed. You will need to look for your connections file on your server machine.
On your server machine, go to the LexiaServer\licenses directory. You should see at least one file: license_emb_xxxxxxxxx; this allows for 5 concurrent database connections. If you have addtional database connections, you will see a file in that same directory: license_win_xxxxxxxx or license_mac_xxxxxxxx.
If you only have license_emb_xxxxxxxx and you have been having problems, then it would be best if you had a connections file.
2.
Requesting a Connections file.
Click on the link below and submit a request for a connections file. Please include the type of operating system being used to host your Lexia database.
Email Customer Support
Note: The number of concurrent connections you will be given is tied to the number of active licenses you have for Lexia products.
3.
Installing a Connections file.
A.
A Lexia support representative will email you your connections file.
B.
Make sure no one is currently using Lexia.
C.
Stop the LexiaServer database service on your server machine.
D.
Unzip the connections file into the \LexiaServer\licenses directory.
E.
Use the LexiaDataMonitor to Compact and Repair your database prior to starting the LexiaServer database service. This will remove any corruption that may be in the database and clear the login history (important after adding a connections file).
F.
Make sure the database service is restarted prior to having users access Lexia.
NOTE: If you do not Compact and Repair your database you may get a message when users login saying that the database is locked. The message asks if the user would like to force a connection - answering yes will allow the user to login. |
