Uninstalling the LexiaServer database service

Symptom

Uninstallation of the LexiaServer database service must be done manually from the server or workstation that hosts the service.

Solution

OS X

  1. Log in as Administrator.
  2. Stop the Lexiaserver database service. (See tech note #100404 for details.)
  3. Delete the folder that contains the LexiaServer service.
  4. Delete /Library/Startup Items/LexiaServer to prevent the daemon from attempting to launch at startup.

Windows XP, 2003 Server

  1. Stop the Lexiaserver database service. (See tech note #100404 for details.)
  2. Start a Command Line prompt (start->Run…, type ‘cmd’, press Enter).
  3. Type 'cd c:\program files\lexiaserver' press Enter. (Where the path is the installed path of the lexiaserver service.)
  4. Type 'lexiaserver.exe -r' and press Enter to unregister the service.
  5. Delete the 'c:\lexiaserver' folder and all of its contents.
