Lexia Tech Note #100304

I'm getting "Director Player Error" messages when I run some of the Lexia programs.

  • Cross-Trainer 1.x

Symptom:

After running without problem, one or more Lexia programs experiences error messages at different points. A typical error message reported looks like the following:

Solution:

This problem indicates corruption in the Lexia records database. The solution may be resolved by manually deleting the index to the database.

If you are using the LexiaServer database service (highly recommend for network installations):

  1. Go to the the server or workstation that is running the LexiaServer database service.
  2. Stop the database service. (For details on manually stopping ther service, see FAQ #100404 for details.)
  3. Find the LexiaServer installed folder, and open the folder named 'Databases'.

  4. Delete ONLY the lexiadatamanager.ind file. DO NOT DELETE ANY OTHER FILES IN THIS FOLDER.
  5. Restart the LexiaServer service. (For details on manually starting the service, see FAQ #100404.)

If you are not running the LexiaServer database service:

  1. Make sure all Lexia programs are not in use.
  2. Navigate to your records location. By default, this would be the Lexia Learning Systems\LLSCommon\Records\ folder.
  3. Open the Records folder and delete this file ONLY: lexiadatamanager.ind. DO NOT DELETE ANY OTHER FILES IN THIS FOLDER.

If this problem occurs repeatedly, refer to FAQ# 102108 to perform a compact and repair on the database.
