On Macintosh OS 9 machines, the Lexia programs freeze when the program is exited.

Symptom:

When using the LexiaServer database service, OS 9 workstations freeze when the program is exited. A full restart of the computer is necessary.

Solution:

First, download and install any program updates available for your Lexia program. An Admin Tool version of 1.10 or later is required in order to resolve this issue. This version update is included with any product update OR as a standalone install at the Lexia product updates site.

When using the LexiaServer database service within an OS 9 environment, Lexia programs require Virtual Memory settings to be disabled.

To disable virtual memory in Mac OS 9.x:

  1. From the Apple menu, choose Control Panels > Memory.
  2. Select Off in the Virtual Memory section.
  3. Close the Memory control panel.
  4. Restart the computer.
