Some administrators may choose to install the Lexia Reading student software using a thumb drive or CD. This is an efficient way to install pre-configured student software to student workstations.
You can follow this procedure if you have a computer that successfully runs the client software. If you do not have that, you have to download and install the software.

Be sure to test the software before following the steps below.
Here are the steps to follow if you have a PC. This installs the Lexia Reading software on a new machine.
- Starting with the PC that successfully runs Lexia Reading, copy the C:\Program Files\Lexia folder to the thumb drive or burn to a CD.
- Sign on to the new computer as an administrator.
- Copy the Lexia folder from the thumb drive or CD to the C:\Progam Files folder.
- Open the C:\Program Files\Lexia folder.
- Right click on
and pick Create Shortcut.
- Rename the "Shortcut to Lexia.exe"
shortcut to "Lexia Reading".
- Move the Lexia Reading shortcut "Lexia Reading"
to
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop folder.
Here are the steps to take if you have a Mac.
- Starting with the Mac that successfully runs Lexia Reading, copy "Lexia Reading"
in the Applications folder to the thumb drive or burn to a CD.
- Sign on to the as an administrator to the Mac you are installing on.
- Copy the Lexia Reading folder from the thumb drive or CD to the Application folder.
- Then, to make an alias (shortcut) on the Mac desktop, first sign off as administrator and sign in with a User level account.
- Navigate to the Applications folder and highlight

- On the Menu bar, click on File and Select Make Alias.
- Drag the Alias to the desktop.
