Lexia Tech Note #201004

Proxy Servers

Solution:

Some schools protect their students by sending all web traffic to a Proxy server. The proxy server acts as a middle man between the student and the Internet. If your school uses a Proxy server you can configure Lexia Reading®’s software to work with the proxy server by entering the Proxy Settings on the General Setting screen. You can enter:

  • Proxy Address – IP address of your school proxy server (formatted without http:// or https://). (required)
  • Proxy Port – Port used to access the proxy server (formatted without http:// or https://). (required)
  • Proxy User – This is the username requested by the proxy server. (optional)
  • Proxy Password – This is the password for the username entered. (optional)

To configure Lexia Reading’s software with your Proxy information

  1. Double-click on the Lexia Reading icon to launch the student software.
  2. Hold down the "a" and the "s" keys until the configuration screen displays.
  3. Enter your Proxy Settings and Save.

Customers with proxies in place to filter web traffic may need to whitelist the addresses that the Lexia Reading student software accesses:

  • http://update.lexialearning.com (12.130.26.140)
  • https://www.mylexia.com (12.130.26.141)
  • https://student.mylexia.com (12.130.26.140)
