Lexia Tech Note #203013
Solution: |
Initially, Netbooks and Minis had a 1024x576 screen resolution. Because this resolution was not supported by many software products, some vendors came out with a firmware fix to allow the screen to be 1024x600. Currently the 1024x576 screen resolution does not meet the minimum system requirements for Lexia Reading®. You will need to verify that your netbook or mini has the option of the 1024x600 resolution and we recommend that you test all new hardware to insure the hardware works as expected. The following error indicates a screen resolution not supported by Lexia Reading: “This computer is not set to proper screen resolution. Please, adjust your display to at least 800 x 600. This application will now quit.”
Then the user will see an error from SecureNet Xtra saying “This version is NOT LICENSED for playback”.
If you can right click on the desktop and select Properties and then select Settings, and then change the screen resolution to 1024x600 or greater, and save that setting, then this error should go away. But at this time, some Netbooks do not allow the user to select any other resolution. Dell has provided a firmware fix for the Dell Latitude 2100 for this problem. The fix allows the user to set the screen resolution to 1024x600. New Dell Latitude 2100s should now ship with this firmware fix. If your Netbook does not allow this resolution, you will need to contact your provider to find out if a firmware fix is available. For Dell, this firmware fix may not be available on the website so you will need to call Dell support to get the firmware fix URL. |
