Lexia Tech Note #203009

Why can’t students connect to Lexia Reading when I can get to the internet?

Solution:

Lexia Reading Student Software is recording student’s activities by communicating with the Lexia® servers via your school’s internet connection.  Even if your Internet connection is working fine (i.e. you can get to Google), students may be unable to successfully login to Lexia Reading. Students might get an error message if this is the case. One possible reason is your school’s network security.

Some schools limit their student’s web activity by only allowing students to visit sites on an approved list (white-list). Additionally, student machines may be limited as to what IP addresses they can communicate with. If your school follows either of these practices, Lexia Reading must be added to your approved list. Administrators need to know that the student’s programs are using these protocols and web sites, and approve or “white-list” the following:

  • http://update.lexialearning.com (12.130.26.140)
  • https://www.mylexia.com (12.130.26.141)
  • https://student.mylexia.com (12.130.26.140)
