Lexia Strategies for Older Students®
Version 4.0
In response to the critical number of older students needing help with reading skills, Lexia developed Strategies for Older Students. The activities in Strategies for Older students were specifically designed to remediate skill areas students need to learn (K through 8th grade level skills) while offering an age-appropriate interface.
Students increase automatic word recognition by reinforcing phonic elements and sound symbol relationship. Activities provide extensive practice in everything from basic phonological awareness to advanced word attack skills all in a non-threatening age appropriate format.
- New, mature, yet non-distracting user interface and illustrations keep older students engaged.
- Management system is consistent with other Lexia software products.
- On-screen flags and alerts enable parents to identify when their student is struggling.
- Interactive exercises branch automatically depending on the student’s performance, providing practice on specific areas of difficulty when needed, and moving student to more challenging activities when they are ready.
Skills Include:
- Levels 1, 2 and 3: Word-attack and contextual strategies necessary for automatic word recognition (practice with 1- to 2-syllable words, sentences and paragraphs)
