Educational Content Specialist (Concord, MA)

About the Job

We are seeking a specialist in the area of reading and instructional design with an interest in educational technology. You will work as part of a team of educational content designers and educational software developers. Major responsibilities include designing activities and interface for delivering educational content to develop basic reading skills. The projects you work on will be fast-paced and require that work be completed in a timely manner with high-quality results. You will participate in all stages of product design and development, from conceptualization through beta testing and post-release field research.

The position requires:

  • Active contribution in cooperative brainstorming and planning meetings;
  • Collaborative work with team members to create structure for delivering content;
  • Independent organization and documentation of ideas, themes and structure

About You

The ideal candidate should have experience delivering reading instruction or intervention strategies. Knowledge of child development and learning theory is a plus, as is experience with instructional design. The candidate should also be knowledgeable about presenting educational content in a technology interface and have a creative sense of children’s media design.

We are looking for someone who is organized and self-motivated with the ability to work well in a team environment. The ability to communicate effectively and build on collaborative ideas is essential. Individuals who can demonstrate creative approaches to problem-solving and a history of exceptional productivity should apply for this position.

Preference will be given to candidates who have:

  • 2 or more years experience designing reading curriculum and/or educational software
  • Knowledge and/or experience in the area of teaching reading skills;
  • Strong interest in educational content, instructional design and educational technology
  • A track record of quality work and excellent references

A bachelor’s degree is required. A master’s degree in education, cognitive psychology, educational technology or related field is preferred.

This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits. Salary commensurate with experience.
