Training Manager – Educational Software (Concord, MA)
Are you an experienced trainer who understands the K–12 education market? Do you have hands-on experience building a training program from the ground up? Lexia Learning Systems is an exciting, mission driven company that provides the highest quality reading software to support students’ reading skills acquisition and proficiency at all levels of ability, pre-K through grade 12. We are looking for a Training Manager who can excel at developing customer and reseller training programs. The right candidate must be highly organized and have excellent communication skills. This position will support the Vice President of Operations and will work closely with Lexia’s Sales and Marketing departments, reseller channel, and other supervisors.
Requirements Include:
- Manage, create, and deliver effective product training strategies achieving adoption and usage goals across international customer base.
- Facilitate instructor lead and virtual classroom training sessions.
- Travel nationally and internationally to conduct local customer trainings.
- Develop and deliver weekly webinars focused on areas including software product, government funding, and trends in public education. Utilize webinar technology to conduct one-on-one and small group presentations and product demonstrations.
- Initiate and implement trial training awareness programs in collaboration with sales team driving to usage goals.
- As part of a formal Train-the-Trainer initiative, identify and certify trainers within reseller organizations.
- Conduct routine training coordination meetings with sales, marketing, and product management to identify issues, schedule trainings and to ensure that customers’ and resellers’ requirements are met.
- Research and develop new training materials including those with video, web, and smartboard capabilities.
- Ensure that training outlines and syllabi exist for all Lexia training courses.
- Prepare and manage annual training budget.
Qualifications:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent years of successful work experience/education. 3 – 5 years of training experience developing and delivering customer trainings in an educational market.
- Needs to be a highly motivated self‐starter with the commitment to see projects to their completion.
- Must demonstrate creative thinking and a willingness to implement new approaches within the organization.
- Possess excellent organization and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal English skills along with strong presentation and moderator capabilities in both virtual and leader-led environments.
- Ability to establish and maintain quality relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to multi task and handle multiple projects at one time.
- Requires computer expertise in MS Office, advanced computer and graphics skills, and experience overseeing the operational development of customer training materials.
- Demonstrated experience building a training curriculum for software product—including “train the trainer”.
- Must be comfortable and proficient with public speaking.
- American Society of Training & Development (ASTD) member – a plus.
